The Country Jamm Band

The Country Jamm Band is a lively local country music band under the guidance of master guitar builder and musician Fred Verd. They are based out of Cache, Oklahoma (with strong ties to nearby towns like Lawton, Fletcher, Chickasha, Medicine Park, Apache, and Elgin). The band tailors their set list to suit the venue and/or the audience. With a combined experience of 263 years on a stage, they're a group of versatile, seasoned musicians. Four of the five band members have military/veteran backgrounds; two of them are Combat Veterans. They specialize in high-energy performances of classic and modern country, along with 50s-style rock-n-roll, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, and some originals. Fred “The Professor” Verd is on electric guitars & vocals, “Rocket” Ricky Burton is on acoustic & electric guitars & vocals, “Railroad” Mike Gatliff is on bass & vocals, “Piano” Mitch Williams is on keyboards & vocals, and “Roadkill” is on drums & vocals.

Their focus is on triggering fond musical memories and getting people dancing, whether at VFW halls, community centers, senior living facilities, private events, or outdoor festivals. This band has been very active for the last three and a half years. They have been covered regionally and locally in The Lawton Constitution Newspaper, in the Spring 2026 Lawton Living Magazine, in various social media sites, and by KSWO TV7.
